Set in a world where humans and super heroes co-exist, a homicide detective, who had his own powers taken from him, investigates crimes involving superhumans along with his partner. What if the world was full of superheroes who aren't actually heroic at all? What if all their powers were just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder and endorsement deals? Enter the men and women of the powers division, the brave people in charge of protecting humans like us and keeping the peace over commercialised, God-like men and women who glide through the sky imposing their power over the mortals who both worship and fear them. Based on the graphic novel by Michael Avon Oeming and Brian Michael Bendis, the edgy and dramatic Powers follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), who are assigned to investigate these cases. A world where people with powers coexist with normal people, yea sure it's been done before. Though I believe with this one they got things right. Unlike so many other shows these days that try to grab the audiences attention through sex, violence and special effects, powers focused quality actors, good dialogs and interesting musical choices. Sure the theme has been visited before, though none quite like powers. When I first saw the play-station logo appear I very nearly stopped watching all together, but I was glad not to. The plot seems thick the characters are extremely well rounded (not your usual good Vs evil type thing) and the acting is just superb. This show is a true work of quality, not just some mind numbing rehash as others might suggest, original and clever and just reeking of humanity. I would give it 8/10 First of all i'm a big fan of sci-fi movies but i gave this one only 7 out of 10 and now ill explain why.. The main actors are very good, specially Sharlto Copley, he is amazing in this role. But i cant say it about his partner in movie Susan Heyward or some other actors. It is probably not they'r fault that they don't fit in the roles or get boring and even annoying (and there are several actors like that), All this is happening in my opinion because of bad plot, so basically i blame writers. I really think if they want to continue this project they should change the writers..So far at least for me the movie is on Sharltos shoulders and he is carrying it alone.. so everyone wants to see Diamond fighting and get his powers and they want to see it now before the show is closed.. Right now writers are killing all the interesting in the movie..even though i'm waiting for every series, i'm very disappointed with what is happening there. Special effects are not the Hollywood big movies like, but they are OK, they fit in this movie quite well. <br/><br/>My conclusion is.. only writers can make this movie great, so far its average but it has a big potential.<br/><br/>Sry about my poor English and mistakes :)
